IONA ONE MAN BAND 2011
Rolling into your mouth like soulful smooth Ray Charles track, flowing though the corridors of a cozy country house on a warm Sunday morning is the Iona One Man Band 2011.
Prominent on the nose is juicy ripe black currents, smell again and you’ll get banana oatmeal pancakes, with salty bacon and sticky sweet golden syrup drizzled all over.
The nose reflects beautifully on to the palete then ends with a elegant soft earthy finishing with a mild hint of earthy button mushrooms.
This wine is so smash-able and I wouldn’t worry to much about putting it to bed to mature as its very approachable and ready to be enjoyed. I know this may sound peculiar, but then again you should pair your wine with what makes sense to you and march to the beat of your own drum; which is clearly what Iona One Man Band is about.
I think this is the perfect red wine to smash with a full of English breakfast fry up, pancakes and French toast (topped with bacon, syrup and fresh berries) ~ which is what I’ll be doing when I purchase more of this soulfully morning glory wine.
